Much like African culture, media has created a false image and representation of eastern asian cultures as well. False stereotypes display eastern Asian cultures as the leader of the technology sector and as the world innovators of science and technology. When Asian Americans appear in commercials, they are often used to represent savvy, intelligent tech experts. This false image would have western individuals believe that individuals in the Chinese culture are much more connected to the digital world with the help and possession of advanced technology. We used these common misconceptions to create an ad that is sleek and displays only the most advanced technology. However, in reality, China has been a late consumer to the smart phone industry. Until late 2013, China had been very far behind the United States in smart phone usage. Just by looking at these three different cultures, it is safe to say that the majority of the modern world is connected to the digital age through cell phones; however, these cultures interpret and use cell phones in drastically different ways.
